Welcome, tacticians, to the very first developer log for Mega Maze Wars!
Mega Maze Wars will be a fun and strategic 1vs1 Tower Defense battle! Spend your gold wisely, or the enemy will take advantage of your foolish mistakes! The development of this game has just started, but we will take you with us on our journey.
Why Mega Maze Wars?
Most mobile tower defense games are passive single-player puzzles or turn-based battlers. We wanted to recapture the raw tactical tension of classic PvP mazing:
- Build Your Labyrinth (Mazing): Every tower you place dynamically alters the path of enemy creeps. Create winding choke points and deadly killzones without completely walling off the route.
- Simultaneous Attack & Defense: You don’t just defend your Bastion, you recruit and launch attack waves to breach the enemy front at the very same time.
- High-Stakes Economy: Do you invest in cheap swarm waves to grow your long-term gold income, or save up for heavy disruptor beasts to break the opponent’s defenses?
- Fast 3–5 Minute Duels: Intense, mind-bending tactical matches built for portrait mobile play without downtime.
Development Status
We are working currently on the core gameplay foundation, pathfinding, and duel flow. These topics are in active development. Stay tuned as we share more updates on towers, unit rosters, and upcoming playtests!
Art and style
Mega Maze wars is a 2D top down Tower Defense. We are working out the art style as we speak. We experimented with 16x16 Pixel graphics and we also scaled them 2x to 32x32 Pixel.

The graphics in Mega Maze Wars are done in LibreSprite, a fork of Aseprite. We are going to experiment with our art style in the next weeks and months. Follow our Devlog to follow the latest development.
